This internship is for those who want hands-on experience with cloud platforms and real-world cost optimization. You will support daily cloud operations, cost-saving initiatives, and basic system tasks. From this role, you can grow into Cloud/DevOps Engineer, Data Analyst, System Administrator with Cloud Optimization focus, or even Business Analyst with a focus on technology and cost efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor daily cloud usage and spending using tools like AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Analysis, or GCP Billing.
- Identify wasted resources (idle EC2, unused storage, old snapshots) and document cost-saving actions.
- Assist in tagging resources for cost allocation by project/team.
- Support basic IT/system tasks: user access setup, server status checks, backup monitoring.
- Maintain documentation for cost reports, SOPs, asset lists, and cloud usage guidelines.
- Optional (if capable): write small Python/Bash scripts for automated reporting or resource scheduling.
What you will learn:
- Work directly with real cloud environments – EC2, S3, RDS, VMs, IAM, networking, billing dashboards.
- Learn how companies control cloud expenses and save 20-40% using techniques like scheduling, RI, Savings Plans, spot instances, and resource rightsizing.
- Understand On-Demand vs Reserved Instances vs Savings Plans vs Spot Instances – when to use each and how it affects cost.
- Hands-on experience applying tagging standards to track cost by team, project, or environment.
- Learn basic server operations: SSH access, disk/memory checks, backup verification, SSL renewal, IAM user setup.
- If interested, you’ll learn to automate cost reports, shutdown schedules, or cost alerts using Python, Bash, or cloud tools.
- Learn how internal SOPs, cost playbooks, asset tracking, and incident logs are created and maintained in real organizations.
- Train yourself to ask questions like: “Do we really need this instance running 24/7?” / “Is this workload better as spot or on-demand?”
- Work with DevOps, Finance, and Engineering teams – improve communication and confidence when presenting findings or suggestions.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of cloud services and pricing concepts.
- Familiar with Linux commands, SSH, and file/system monitoring.
- Able to use Excel/Google Sheets for reports.
- Curious, proactive, willing to learn and explore cost-saving ideas.
- Bonus: Python/Bash scripting, Terraform/Ansible exposure.
Benefits:
- 3-month internship with a monthly allowance
- 02 paid leaves per month, so you can arrange time with the school
- Trained by experienced mentors & work on real projects
- Learning & Development opportunities, internal workshops
- DevSecOps & English-speaking environment
- Flex hour & Happy time every Friday
- Team-building and company events
- Monthly checkpoint & Intern Certificate upon completion
- Good opportunity to become our official member after the internship
